First Data UX Internship
Designing for Marketplace
OVERVIEW
Summary
During the summer 2019, I worked as a UX Design Intern within Marketplace team where I worked on several projects. These projects were related to merchant dashboards designing, partner website designing and creating assets for design system. I had an opportunity to learn from and work with a wonderful team of designers, managers, and engineers for 10 weeks.
Unfortunately, due to NDA I can’t share specific details about my work. If you would like to learn more about my experience, feel free to contact me!

Ask Right
Questions
Asking the right questions allows you to better understand the scope, constraints, and opportunities.
This understanding helps in better solve the problem.
You might not always know the answers but need to learn how to move forward. Gather as many resources you can and make assumptions that can be validated with research.
Go for the extensive idea exploration
Through extensive brainstorming, you can think through different ideas quickly which helps ensure that you are choosing the best solution and not just the solution.

Evaluating each idea with keeping business and user goals in mind helps to scrap unwanted ideas quickly.
Get Feedback
Early
Communicate early
and often
Get feedback often and early in your design process. You should not be afraid to show incomplete work as long as you can demonstrate your design decisions.

It is also important to be clear on what design part you are expecting feedback on.
For each project, there are many stakeholders. It is important to establish the best communication medium between engineering team, product team and design team.

Communicating at each milestone of the project and frequently so that valuable time is not lost. This also ensures everyone is on the same page.
